STUDIO CONTRACT AND POLICY

Payment - Payment in full is required at the end of each recording session. Broken Land Studios accepts cash; checks may be accepted after review and approval. There is a $50 fee for a check returned for insufficient funds or any other reason. The artist is responsible for any and all legal costs and attorney's fees, etc., required to collect payment for checks that do not clear.

Booking and Cancellation - 
 Sessions may be cancelled without penalty if at least 24 hours notice is given. There is a cancellation fee of 50% of the full rate of the hours that were originally booked for canceling a session with less than 24 hours notice. A session begins at the time it is booked even if the artist arrives after the scheduled time. A session ends when all recording has stopped (including, for example, burning CD-Rs or rough mixes) and clients are preparing to leave.

Fees - 
 There is a minimum booking time of 2 hours. The rates are as follows:

Session of five hours or more are $20 per hour

CD-Rs including jewel box are $.50 each.

DVD-Rs including jewel box are $.75 each.

Setup time and backing up to the artist’s storage device (if requested) are part of the billable session. The engineer will break for 10 minutes every 2 hours to alleviate ear fatigue, and will take one 45-minute meal break every 5 hours.

There is no charge during the meal break.

Storage: Broken Land Studios maintains responsibility for storage of final takes only until the project is completed. The client is responsible, thereafter, for storage and backup.
